Worker killed by bulldozer in Holmesburg

Police said another worker was operating the machine that ran over a 59-year-old Upper Darby man.

A 59-year-old worker at a Holmesburg construction site died after a bulldozer ran over him last Thursday morning, Philadelphia police said.

It happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. on the 5100 block of Pennypack Street near the Philadelphia Fire Academy, the Holmesburg Fish and Game Club and Philadelphia Water Department property. Another worker was operating the bulldozer. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Police did not disclose the owner of the construction site or the company doing the work. Police provided no further details.

Philly.com and 6ABC identified the victim as Barry P. Jones of Upper Darby. ••
